Description
The sofa is conceived as a tub, a hull, an open and expanded shell, entirely upholstered in fine saddle leather. Resting on slim legs in matt light grey powder-coated steel, the structure hosts a series of cushions that echo and soften its contours, offering both visual and physical comfort. The design draws clear references: the dry, severe geometries of neoclassicism blend with the sensuality of female figures traditionally portrayed in academic paintings, resulting in a piece where architectural rigor is enriched by sensual fluidity. The frame features a poplar plywood backrest, a naturally seasoned solid elm seat matured over at least three years, and boxed steel arms. The webbing relies on elastic polypropylene and natural latex belts. The seat cushions are crafted from resilient, CFC-free polyurethane foam, while the back cushions are made from "Tecnolat", a blend of silicon-coated hollow polyester fibers and latex foam cut into small lozenge shapes. The structure is upholstered in saddle leather, with cushions available in removable fabric or leather covers, showcasing an artisanal attention to every detail.
