Description
This small sofa belongs to the historic family of furnishings created for Chandigarh, the Indian city designed by Le Corbusier in the 1950s, and pays tribute to Jeanneret, a key figure in the design of the city’s furniture. Alongside the Capitol Complex Armchair, it completed the furnishing of La Haute Cour, the political and administrative heart of Chandigarh. The structure, a testament to Cassina’s exceptional joinery craftsmanship, is available in four fine wood finishes: teak, natural oak, black-stained oak, and dark walnut-stained oak, all with a sophisticated low-gloss finish. The seat and backrest are made of polyurethane foam with a metal insert and elastic webbing, padded with recycled PET wadding, reflecting a commitment to sustainability.
