CAP53, designed by Angelo Mangiarotti in 1961 and reissued by Agapecasa, is a refined collection of vases, containers, and centerpieces made of bronze. They are created using the ancient and prestigious technique of lost-wax casting — typical of artistic sculpture — followed by turning and polishing. The design of the pieces is based on a simple geometric principle: two circles of different diameters, moving along the vertical axis, generate a variety of elementary and symmetrical forms. The outer surface maintains an irregular and raw character typical of the casting process, in sharp contrast with the turned and polished parts of the central container, which are dry and bright. Given the artistic importance and complexity of the production process, each piece is a limited edition of 100 signed and numbered items.
