Description

The Guell sun lounger, a quintessential piece of outdoor furniture, blends contemporary aesthetics with tradition. Its design is defined by the burnished painted aluminum band running along its entire profile, while the handwoven polypropylene rope recalls traditional craftsmanship, providing a contrast to the modern materials. The adjustable backrest offers various reclining positions for optimal comfort, and the frame can be made of solid teak slats, featuring the distinctive woven pattern or the new Batyline covering. The wooden slats, matching the width of those of the 6 or 8-seat table in the collection, provide a cohesive design element that links the various pieces of the same line. Lightweight and easy to move thanks to the wheel positioned on the backrest, the lounger features a system that activates the wheel only when the lounger is lifted, ensuring maximum safety. Every detail reflects the design and functional excellence that characterizes the Timeout Collection.

The brand is distinguished by innovative design, continuous research, and the adoption of advanced production techniques, supplying furnishings for museums, hotels, restaurants, and cruise ships, with collaborations from renowned designers such as Patricia Urquiola, Rodolfo Dordoni, Jean Nouvel, and Hannes Wettstein. Molteni&C received the prestigious Compasso d'Oro career award in 1994 and 2020, awarded by ADI (Association for Industrial Design). Since 2012, in collaboration with the Gio Ponti Archives and under the artistic direction of Studio Cerri & Associati, it has exclusively reissued several iconic pieces by Gio Ponti, intended for private residences, special projects, or limited editions, faithfully respecting the original designs.
