This armchair is a classic design by Eileen Gray, who since 1973 has granted the worldwide rights to manufacture and distribute her designs to Aram Designs Limited London. The Museum of Modern Art has added his legendary Adjustable Table E 1027 to its permanent design collection in 1978. Not Conformist has chromed steel tube frame and the seat has a beech frame with rubber straps. The upholstery is made of polyurethane with quilting cotton and leather in different colors. Asked why there is only one arm, the designer responded that responded best to its criteria of freedom of movement , without restriction, absolutely non-conformist !
