Walter, designed by Vincent Van Duysen, has its roots in the craftsmanship tradition typical of Scandinavian countries. A small armchair with a frame made entirely of solid ash, stained as black oak or eucalyptus, where the backrest is all one with the armrests. Designed for a contemporary and convivial setting, the relaxed style of this little armchair is played out on its contrasts: the essential elegance of the frame contrasts with the softness of the seat. Seat and backrest are completed with soft padding upholstered in fabric or leather, chosen from the wide range of the Molteni&C collections.

Description

The Walter armchair by Vincent Van Duysen features a solid ash wood frame with plastic glides. It is available in two versions: one with an upholstered backrest, which includes a thermoplastic support covered in polyurethane and polyester fiber, and another with a solid wood backrest. The seat cushion is made of high-resilience polyurethane with a polyester fiber layer. In the version with an upholstered back cushion, all covered parts must have the same color and finish, with no customization options.

The brand is distinguished by innovative design, continuous research, and the adoption of advanced production techniques, supplying furnishings for museums, hotels, restaurants, and cruise ships, with collaborations from renowned designers such as Patricia Urquiola, Rodolfo Dordoni, Jean Nouvel, and Hannes Wettstein. Molteni&C received the prestigious Compasso d'Oro career award in 1994 and 2020, awarded by ADI (Association for Industrial Design). Since 2012, in collaboration with the Gio Ponti Archives and under the artistic direction of Studio Cerri & Associati, it has exclusively reissued several iconic pieces by Gio Ponti, intended for private residences, special projects, or limited editions, faithfully respecting the original designs.
