Alfa is born from the combination of only two pieces: one is the backrest that extends into the rear legs, and the other is the seat that extends into the front legs. Description

Alfa, designed by Hannes Wettstein in 2001, features an innovative and minimalistic structure consisting of a seat and backrest made from "SMC" (composite material of polyester resins reinforced with fiberglass). This material ensures a combination of lightness, strength, and durability over time. The polyurethane anti-slip feet contribute to the chair's stability on various surfaces, enhancing safety. It is available in special matte finishes such as chalk white and anthracite, adding a sophisticated and contemporary touch to the design. The chair's dimensions are 80 cm in width, 50 cm in depth, 49 cm in seat height, and 46 cm in backrest height.

The brand is distinguished by innovative design, continuous research, and the adoption of advanced production techniques, supplying furnishings for museums, hotels, restaurants, and cruise ships, with collaborations from renowned designers such as Patricia Urquiola, Rodolfo Dordoni, Jean Nouvel, and Hannes Wettstein. Molteni&C received the prestigious Compasso d'Oro career award in 1994 and 2020, awarded by ADI (Association for Industrial Design). Since 2012, in collaboration with the Gio Ponti Archives and under the artistic direction of Studio Cerri & Associati, it has exclusively reissued several iconic pieces by Gio Ponti, intended for private residences, special projects, or limited editions, faithfully respecting the original designs.
