Description

Janet is a chair available with or without armrests, designed to make a strong impression with its solid wood frame. Its elegant lines make it versatile, allowing it to complement a variety of tables while adding a distinctive touch to any setting. The structure features rounded elements, crafted through a precise and meticulous woodworking process, creating a harmonious and refined look. The shell, made from plastic and ergonomically shaped with a thin layer of polyurethane, attaches seamlessly to the upper and lower crossbars of the frame. This results in an integrated seating and backrest system that flows continuously, offering exceptional comfort due to the careful attention to detail and ergonomic design. Janet is available with upholstery in fabric or leather from the Molteni&C collection. In some versions, the upholstery is removable, with the caveat that it must be done by qualified personnel. Additionally, upon request, the chair is available in a fire-retardant version, compliant with BS 5852 and TB 117-2013 standards. It is the buyer's responsibility to ensure the product meets local regulations and specifications for its intended use.

The brand is distinguished by innovative design, continuous research, and the adoption of advanced production techniques, supplying furnishings for museums, hotels, restaurants, and cruise ships, with collaborations from renowned designers such as Patricia Urquiola, Rodolfo Dordoni, Jean Nouvel, and Hannes Wettstein. Molteni&C received the prestigious Compasso d'Oro career award in 1994 and 2020, awarded by ADI (Association for Industrial Design). Since 2012, in collaboration with the Gio Ponti Archives and under the artistic direction of Studio Cerri & Associati, it has exclusively reissued several iconic pieces by Gio Ponti, intended for private residences, special projects, or limited editions, faithfully respecting the original designs.
