On the occasion of the centenary of Max Huber's birth, Poltrona Frau pays tribute to the famous Swiss graphic artist with the Billie and Dizzy rug collection. The rugs are inspired by two unpublished works selected from the archive, one from 1936 and the other from 1947. Dizzy, in particular, is inspired by a design characterized by rhythmic lines that symbolically evoke Dizzy Gillespie, one of the inventors of bebop and modern jazz.

Description

The Dizzy rug, inspired by Max Huber, stands out for its rhythm and visual dynamism, paying homage to the music of Dizzy Gillespie. Available in standard sizes of 200x300 cm and 250x350 cm, custom sizes can be requested, with the possibility to adjust the proportions of the design based on the chosen size. The rug's design consists of a series of broken lines of varying lengths, arranged both horizontally and vertically, expanding radially from the center towards the edges. The design is made even more captivating by the choice of colors: Blue Green, Deep Red, Light Grey, and White Sand, each consisting of three shades that give the rug a vibrant, three-dimensional appearance. Made with hand-knotting on wooden looms, the rug is composed of 100% hand-spun and carded natural wool, a material that enhances the depth and intensity of the colors. The pile is uniform, velvet-like in texture, and the borders are hand-finished in wool. Each rug is unique, featuring an embroidered signature and a fabric border with the Poltrona Frau logo. The knotting quality, with 50,000 knots per square meter, ensures long-lasting durability and strength. The rug has a thickness of approximately 12 mm and a weight of 2.3 kg/m².
