Description

The base of Aster is made from brass cast in an earth mold, giving it a sophisticated hammered effect. The ring is welded to the legs, while the vibro-finishing technique gently smooths the structure, creating a textured appearance. The top is made of annealed glass with a subtle undulation on the underside that adds personality. The glass is meticulously crafted, heated to 180 degrees in a mold with a dimpled bottom, giving it its signature finish. Aster is a sculptural piece that fits effortlessly into various collections and environments. Its structure is available in polished brass or patinated black brass, while the annealed glass top comes in green or smoked finishes. The dimensions range from Ø 40 cm to Ø 50 cm. Please note that no changes to the finishes are possible.

The brand is distinguished by innovative design, continuous research, and the adoption of advanced production techniques, supplying furnishings for museums, hotels, restaurants, and cruise ships, with collaborations from renowned designers such as Patricia Urquiola, Rodolfo Dordoni, Jean Nouvel, and Hannes Wettstein. Molteni&C received the prestigious Compasso d'Oro career award in 1994 and 2020, awarded by ADI (Association for Industrial Design). Since 2012, in collaboration with the Gio Ponti Archives and under the artistic direction of Studio Cerri & Associati, it has exclusively reissued several iconic pieces by Gio Ponti, intended for private residences, special projects, or limited editions, faithfully respecting the original designs.
