Description
In 1959, for the Maison du Brésil in Paris, the stool took on a three-dimensional form, designed to function both vertically and horizontally, with oblong openings for easy handling. The version made for the children’s rooms at Nantes Rezé abandons the complex joints in favor of simplified, right-angled connections, echoing the objet trouvé approach dear to Le Corbusier, and featuring open-pore lacquered oak surfaces in ultramarine blue and brown. Each piece exemplifies Cassina’s mastery in woodworking, merging structural clarity with visual poetry in a perfect synthesis of architecture and design.
