Description

In 2014, on its 40th anniversary, Cassina unveiled an updated version featuring modern perimeter stitching and upholstery available in leather or fabric; the 40-S model adds the convenience of fully removable fabric covers, combining style with everyday practicality. Further refined in 2024 following extensive research in collaboration with the Fondazione Magistretti, the internal mechanism now offers an enhanced reclining angle with an additional seven degrees of inclination, setting a new standard for comfort. The frame is crafted from tubular steel with elastic webbing, the padding made of differentiated-density CFC-free polyurethane foam, and the seat cushions filled with polyurethane and polyester wadding. The base, available in solid canaletto walnut or lacquered finishes from the Cassina palette, adds a refined structural element. The Maralunga family includes an armchair, ottoman, and two- or three-seat sofas in various sizes, offering versatility and elegance for contemporary living.
