Description
The structure is composed of a tubular steel frame with elastic belts, elegantly finished with two visible solid wood beams that evoke the architectural language of Japan. The black plastic feet and spacers remain discreet, allowing the design’s refined balance to emerge. Ergonomics are enhanced by a thoughtful construction: the backrests and armrests gently fold to embrace the body, and are distinguished by a refined external quilting. This same detail is echoed in the back cushions, completing the composition with harmony. With a rich modularity – including new corner units, end modules, and an ottoman available with or without an integrated low table – Sengu Sofa allows for flexible and unconventional arrangements that never sacrifice elegance. Comfort meets sustainability: the seat padding incorporates recycled PET fibre, sourced through Plastic Bank® and developed by Cassina LAB, a collaboration between the Cassina Research and Development Centre and Poli.design at the Politecnico di Milano. Available with fabric or leather upholstery, Sengu Sofa is a refined blend of culture, innovation, and domestic warmth.
