Asolo, designed by Angelo Mangiarotti in 1981 and reissued by Agapecasa, represents the third milestone in the master's research on gravity joints, evolving the concepts expressed with Eros (1971) and Incas (1978). The table is distinguished by the extreme thinness of its forms: the tabletop features two "slots" (hence the name, which means "eyelet") into which two trapezoidal supports/slabs of the same thickness are fitted. The inclination of the supports not only guarantees stability but also determines the vertical locking of the tabletop. Originally conceived in granite to exploit its exceptional resistance, it is today offered by Agapecasa in various fine marbles, often reinforced with carbon fiber.

In this project, the contact area between the tabletop and the legs is reduced to the bare minimum, and every component not structurally necessary has been eliminated, making the structure almost two-dimensional while maintaining exceptional stability. The trapezoidal and inclined shape of the supports is the key element that, combined with the weight of the stone material, transforms gravity into a constructive element that locks and consolidates the entire system.
