Club 44, designed by Angelo Mangiarotti and Bruno Morassutti in 1957 for the eponymous cultural club in La Chaux-de-Fonds, is a highly expressive architectural table now reissued by Agapecasa. The construction is composed of three elements: a massive concrete truncated-cone base, a steel cross structure, and a tabletop available in glass or 30 mm birch plywood with oak or natural linoleum finishes. The table is available with square, elliptical, round, or rectangular tops, and in some versions can reach up to 100 x 300 cm.

Club 44 is a manifesto of Mangiarotti’s poetics: each component clearly expresses its function, from the reassuring mass of the concrete base to the graphic lightness of the tabletop, and the technical elegance of the metal cross that connects and separates the elements. This three-part construction gives the table a nearly sculptural presence, capable of engaging with spaces in an architectural and rigorous manner. The option of choosing glass or wood tops, with different finishes, expands the project’s versatility without compromising its identity. Originally designed as bespoke furniture for a cultural center, the table remains remarkably relevant today, combining constructive clarity, visual balance, and a strong historical imprint.
