Description

The Diamond series, designed by Patricia Urquiola in 2004, features an elegant structure made of glossy aluminum, copper, pewter, or matte and glossy lacquered finishes in Molteni's color range. The table top is available in transparent extralight glass, colored acid-etched glass, or a selection of premium marbles such as white Carrara, emperador dark, nero marquina, silver wave, verde alpi, grigio oriente, Sahara noir, and calacatta. The table's structure consists of an outer bent part made of anodized or lacquered aluminum, with an inner reinforcement of aluminum inserts and expanded polyurethane, while the marble top is supported by a 2mm aluminum sheet reinforcement. Diamond won the Red Dot Design Award Best of the Best in 2005.

The brand is distinguished by innovative design, continuous research, and the adoption of advanced production techniques, supplying furnishings for museums, hotels, restaurants, and cruise ships, with collaborations from renowned designers such as Patricia Urquiola, Rodolfo Dordoni, Jean Nouvel, and Hannes Wettstein. Molteni&C received the prestigious Compasso d'Oro career award in 1994 and 2020, awarded by ADI (Association for Industrial Design). Since 2012, in collaboration with the Gio Ponti Archives and under the artistic direction of Studio Cerri & Associati, it has exclusively reissued several iconic pieces by Gio Ponti, intended for private residences, special projects, or limited editions, faithfully respecting the original designs.
