Description

The Touch Down Unit is a compact mobile workstation that easily adapts to any movement, responding to the constant changes in layout and configuration of spaces, as well as to different usage situations. It can be used sitting on an armchair, a chair, or a stool, or standing. It serves as a service module for placing and storing bags or other personal belongings, using a laptop, making a phone call, or charging electronic devices. The design is centered around the individual user, adapting to different activities each day.

The workstation has a metal structure with a base and a central column housing the work surface support. The vertical and horizontal sliding system allows easy adjustment of the height and position of the surface, making it ergonomic and comfortable to use. Additionally, there is a compartment for inserting a rechargeable battery (power bank) and USB ports for charging electronic devices. To facilitate mobility, the base is equipped with retractable 360° swivel wheels, making it easy to move around.

The brand is distinguished by innovative design, continuous research, and the adoption of advanced production techniques, supplying furnishings for museums, hotels, restaurants, and cruise ships, with collaborations from renowned designers such as Patricia Urquiola, Rodolfo Dordoni, Jean Nouvel, and Hannes Wettstein. Molteni&C received the prestigious Compasso d'Oro career award in 1994 and 2020, awarded by ADI (Association for Industrial Design). Since 2012, in collaboration with the Gio Ponti Archives and under the artistic direction of Studio Cerri & Associati, it has exclusively reissued several iconic pieces by Gio Ponti, intended for private residences, special projects, or limited editions, faithfully respecting the original designs.
