Description
Faced with limited resources, Perriand turned necessity into invention. She repurposed leftover solid rosewood from the production of her Tabourets, cutting it into 313 hand-finished rectangular blocks. Assembled one by one and held together with vertical aluminum rods and plastic spacers, the blocks form a modular screen that moves with the fluidity of a flexible mesh. The result is a tactile and visual composition, adaptable in shape and alive with rhythm. Available today in natural canaletto walnut, natural oak, or black-stained oak, the Paravent Ambassade stands as a testament to Perriand’s visionary design, her respect for materials, and her masterful ability to transform constraints into poetic form.
