Description
The Xi lamps, designed by Neri & Hu, come in different models to suit various lighting needs and spaces. The collection includes a bar with a single pendant lamp, available in two sizes, as well as linear compositions with six different configurations combining two or three lamps of the same or different sizes. The range is completed by an XL pendant lamp, a floor arm lamp, and a table lamp.
The light fixtures are available in three sizes—S, L, and XL—and are made of two blown glass components. The upper glass is transparent and ribbed, available in different finishes, while the lower glass features a Pearl finish. The upper glass color options include amber, emerald, sapphire, and moonstone. Each lamp is suspended by a Saddle Extra leather band with clean-cut, tone-on-tone dyed edges and a hot-stamped Poltrona Frau logo. The XL lamp’s leather band is equipped with a small metal loop. The attachment of the leather band to the horizontal bar allows the lamps to be suspended. The band is available in Camel and Mole Grey, coordinating with the glass finish within each composition. The metal parts, in natural brass, add a further touch of elegance.
The Xi lamps feature an advanced wiring system that varies depending on the model. The S and L lamps use G9 light sources, while the XL version incorporates a combination of G9 and E27 bulbs. For optimal performance, it is recommended to use G9 10W LED bulbs with a color temperature of 2700/3000°K and a maximum diameter of 20mm.
The suspended models with a horizontal bar are crafted from extruded aluminum, painted in matte gunmetal grey. The fixture system includes a single canopy and two adjustable transparent suspension cables, extendable up to a maximum length of 2.5 meters. The bar functions as a track, allowing the lanterns to slide horizontally during installation before being locked into the desired position. It is available in two lengths: 130 cm and 180 cm. The canopy is made of aluminum with a natural brass finish and is available in two versions: CE/CCC/UKCA (diameter 6 cm) and UL (diameter 12 cm).
The XL pendant lamp is suspended by its leather band and features a canopy in natural brass, available in the same versions as the other suspended models. The floor arm lamp includes a dimmable on/off switch and is supported by a steel stand with a satin burnished finish. The leather band extends down to the base, covering the back of the steel support. The base consists of a circular disc in semi-gloss black Marquina marble, topped with a metal balancing block and edged with a satin burnished metal sheet.
The table lamp in size L is available in three different switch versions: touch-dimmable on the base for CE/UKCA, dimmable on the cable for UL, and on/off on the cable for CCC. The base is a natural brass disc, while the leather band not only supports the lamp but also serves as a handle for easy repositioning, featuring the hot-stamped Poltrona Frau logo on the top.
All Xi lamp glasses are unique pieces, handcrafted by master glassmakers in Venice using colored glass paste blowing techniques. Any slight variations in color or small air bubbles are characteristic of the artisanal process and should be considered as distinctive elements that make each piece one of a kind.
