Honey is a simple yet elegant bed, distinguished by fabric or leather upholstery, enhanced by materials and tailoring techniques typical of the finest “couturiers.” It offers a modern line for a compact textile bed, designed for smaller spaces. The under-bed storage has a new tilting mechanism developed to facilitate access to the storage compartment. In the version with storage, the bed frame features two positions: a front-opening position for easy access to stored items and a horizontal lift for convenient bed-making.

Description

The HONEY bed, designed by Arik Levy in 2009, is available in two versions: the fixed bed and the storage bed. The feet of the fixed version are finished with black painted metal, while the storage version features chromed steel feet. The headboard is made from plywood with variable-density polyurethane foam padding, covered in a velvet lining. Both versions of the footboard are constructed from a metal frame with polyurethane foam padding, and the lining is also made of velvet. The footboard of the storage version includes panels crafted from wood particles, with a melamine finish inside and a matte black lacquer on the outside.

For the fixed version, the feet are made from painted steel, featuring anti-slip felt pads, while the storage version has chromed steel feet with similar anti-slip protection. The bottom for the storage space is made from wood particle panels with a melamine coating and nylon handles for easier movement. The external cover is removable and can be customized according to the selected fabric, which is detailed on the attached label.

The bed frame includes a metal structure with wooden slats, incorporating a dual-pump lifting mechanism that allows for two service positions, making it a highly functional and adaptable design. The product complies with TB117 or BS5852 fire safety standards, ensuring both comfort and safety.

The brand is distinguished by innovative design, continuous research, and the adoption of advanced production techniques, supplying furnishings for museums, hotels, restaurants, and cruise ships, with collaborations from renowned designers such as Patricia Urquiola, Rodolfo Dordoni, Jean Nouvel, and Hannes Wettstein. Molteni&C received the prestigious Compasso d'Oro career award in 1994 and 2020, awarded by ADI (Association for Industrial Design). Since 2012, in collaboration with the Gio Ponti Archives and under the artistic direction of Studio Cerri & Associati, it has exclusively reissued several iconic pieces by Gio Ponti, intended for private residences, special projects, or limited editions, faithfully respecting the original designs.
