Description
The design of Mi plays with solid and void volumes, an in-depth exploration of materials and forms, achieving a perfect balance between simplicity and elegance. The metal frame, made from tubular metal with a burnished steel finish, serves as the base for the furniture. In the case of the trolley, the same frame also acts as a handle. The sides of the units are made of curved poplar plywood panels, while the bottoms and backs are made of birch plywood. The doors, made from honeycomb panels with a birch plywood frame, are filled with honeycomb and padded with MDF panels. The Low Cabinet features 4 doors that open in pairs like a book, while the High Cabinet has two openable doors. The doors are closed using magnets. The interiors and bottoms of the containers are veneered in Canaletto walnut, and a solid Canaletto walnut frame refines the top edge, creating the grip for opening the doors. The top, made from tempered glass with a bronzed finish, is supported by the metal structure and raised above the unit. The top is available in various polished or semi-polished marble finishes. The Low Cabinet is divided into two separate compartments, each equipped with a fixed shelf made of veneered Canaletto walnut, while the High Cabinet features a single compartment with two adjustable shelves. The Trolley has a burnished tempered glass shelf that can be set in three different heights. The units rest on adjustable black plastic feet, while the Trolley is equipped with four swivel castors. The upholstery, in Cuoio Saddle Extra with Canneté processing, is applied to the exterior of the units, with the trolley handle covered in leather and hand-stitched. A distinctive feature is the brass plate with the Poltrona Frau logo, attached to the lower part of the right side of the unit.
