Description

The sofa designed by Hannes Wettstein represents a perfect balance of comfort and refined aesthetics. Its internal structure combines solid spruce wood and particle board panels, reinforced with elastic belts for durability and support. The padding consists of high-resilience polyurethane foam with variable densities, covered with a soft velour lining for enhanced comfort.

The seating system is available in two versions: fiber cushions, featuring a molded polyurethane insert combined with polyester fiber, or feather cushions, which integrate a molded polyurethane insert with sterilized feather filling. Both options are encased in a 100% cotton lining. The backrest cushions follow the same philosophy, offering a balanced and enveloping support with polyester fiber and sterilized feather padding.

The sofa rests on sleek polished metal feet, equipped with non-slip plastic tips to ensure stability and floor protection. The fully removable upholstery, available in leather or fabric, offers versatility and ease of maintenance.

Designed for optimal comfort, the seat depth measures 74 cm without back cushions and approximately 60 cm with cushions in place. The height from the floor to the base of the sofa ranges between 13.5 and 10 cm, giving the structure a sense of lightness.

Available in various sizes and configurations, the model is offered with either fiber or feather seating and complies with TB117 and BS5852 standards.

The brand is distinguished by innovative design, continuous research, and the adoption of advanced production techniques, supplying furnishings for museums, hotels, restaurants, and cruise ships, with collaborations from renowned designers such as Patricia Urquiola, Rodolfo Dordoni, Jean Nouvel, and Hannes Wettstein. Molteni&C received the prestigious Compasso d'Oro career award in 1994 and 2020, awarded by ADI (Association for Industrial Design). Since 2012, in collaboration with the Gio Ponti Archives and under the artistic direction of Studio Cerri & Associati, it has exclusively reissued several iconic pieces by Gio Ponti, intended for private residences, special projects, or limited editions, faithfully respecting the original designs.
