Description

Corteccia stands out for an organic pattern that combines visual depth and tactile quality. The rug is knotted using a blend of bamboo silk, wool, and cotton, creating contrast between matte and luminous areas and enhancing the perception of the surface. Its visual structure recalls the veins of tree bark, making it suitable for contemporary spaces that seek warmth and character.

The brand is distinguished by innovative design, continuous research, and the adoption of advanced production techniques, supplying furnishings for museums, hotels, restaurants, and cruise ships, with collaborations from renowned designers such as Patricia Urquiola, Rodolfo Dordoni, Jean Nouvel, and Hannes Wettstein. Molteni&C received the prestigious Compasso d'Oro career award in 1994 and 2020, awarded by ADI (Association for Industrial Design). Since 2012, in collaboration with the Gio Ponti Archives and under the artistic direction of Studio Cerri & Associati, it has exclusively reissued several iconic pieces by Gio Ponti, intended for private residences, special projects, or limited editions, faithfully respecting the original designs.
