Description
MHC.1 is a reedition of the prototype of the first modern piece of furniture created by Molteni&C, the dresser designed by Werner Blaser. It was awarded first prize at the 1955 Cantù International Competition, the 1st Selettiva, a key event aimed at revitalizing the image of Italian production. This dresser features a simple construction system based on a triple-fork joint, which makes it a unique piece of design history. The piece is available in two new versions, with the exclusive finishes of honey-stained emien and black-stained ash.
The structure and front panels are made of medium-density fiberboard covered with veneer of Emien (Alstonia boonei) or Ash (Fraxinus), with applied perimeter blocks. The perimeter blocks and handles are made from solid Kotò wood (Pterygota macrocarpa) or Ash. The interior sides and bottom of the drawer are made of solid Kotò or Ash wood, while the bottom panel is also covered with veneer of Emien or Ash.
