Description

The Woody collection, designed by Francesco Meda in 2018, exemplifies elegance and refinement, achieved through the use of high-quality materials and meticulous design. The structure is made of stained solid ash wood, available in various finishes such as coffee oak, black oak, and sunrise oak, which give the piece a solid and beautiful look. The seat and backrest are covered in non-removable bonded hide leather, available in a range of colors including ivory, black, dark brown, natural, mud green, and dove grey, creating a harmonious contrast with the wood. The chairs feature a wooden structure with interchangeable tips (plastic or felt), adding practical functionality. The chair with a wooden backrest and seat is crafted with ash veneer on a beech plywood core, while the version with bonded leather uses a beech plywood core covered with leather. The dimensions of the chair are 79.5 cm in height, 48.2 cm in width, and 70 cm in depth, providing a comfortable and elegant seating experience.

The brand is distinguished by innovative design, continuous research, and the adoption of advanced production techniques, supplying furnishings for museums, hotels, restaurants, and cruise ships, with collaborations from renowned designers such as Patricia Urquiola, Rodolfo Dordoni, Jean Nouvel, and Hannes Wettstein. Molteni&C received the prestigious Compasso d'Oro career award in 1994 and 2020, awarded by ADI (Association for Industrial Design). Since 2012, in collaboration with the Gio Ponti Archives and under the artistic direction of Studio Cerri & Associati, it has exclusively reissued several iconic pieces by Gio Ponti, intended for private residences, special projects, or limited editions, faithfully respecting the original designs.
