Description

Living Box is designed as a standalone piece of furniture, versatile for any room in the house but especially suitable for the living area. It is a low, rectangular container available in various sizes (230, 280, 330, 380), without doors, where the exterior and interior contrast through the use of different materials. The exterior is characterized by a large surface, decorated with marbles and woods arranged in geometric patterns. This is enclosed by a frame in iris and pewter, which appears thin from above but becomes a thick profile when viewed from the front, outlining the inner space. The top can be fitted with cable pass-throughs to facilitate connections for multimedia devices, TVs, or lighting systems. The remaining surface can remain free or be used for decorative objects.
The finishes in Eucalyptus and the new Sunrise Oak, with a light tone and a special brushing that adds softness to the touch, wrap around the entire container. The Sunrise Oak finish is a contemporary reinterpretation of a classic theme, enriched by expert craftsmanship. LED lighting provides a soft glow, while the inner space, free of sharp corners thanks to curved corner covers, offers a surface for objects on display. If necessary, the system can be enhanced with drawers, either in iris and pewter or wood, with a simple, elegant design that hides what needs to be concealed, allowing for multiple configurations. The system is completed with a Tape technical container, designed to meet the needs of video and HIFI equipment.

The brand is distinguished by innovative design, continuous research, and the adoption of advanced production techniques, supplying furnishings for museums, hotels, restaurants, and cruise ships, with collaborations from renowned designers such as Patricia Urquiola, Rodolfo Dordoni, Jean Nouvel, and Hannes Wettstein. Molteni&C received the prestigious Compasso d'Oro career award in 1994 and 2020, awarded by ADI (Association for Industrial Design). Since 2012, in collaboration with the Gio Ponti Archives and under the artistic direction of Studio Cerri & Associati, it has exclusively reissued several iconic pieces by Gio Ponti, intended for private residences, special projects, or limited editions, faithfully respecting the original designs.
